After missing last season dealing with a back injury, Michael Porter Jr. is looking like the lottery pick he was projected to be. Porter Jr. dropped a team-high and career-high 25 points in the Denver Nuggets win over a stout Indiana Pacers defense.

Porter only played 22 minutes on Thursday, but that didn’t stop the second-year pro from hitting 11 shots on 12 attempts. His level of play is what the Nuggets feel is the last piece to an already competitive Western Conference team.

The Nuggets are currently second in the West behind the Los Angeles Lakers. Porter Jr. went from sitting out an entire year to this year not even being in the rotation and now looks like an emerging 6th man for the Nuggets and possibly an eventual starter.

The 6’10 scorer was highly regarded as a #1 overall pick last year until a lingering back injury proved problematic for 13 other teams in the 2018 draft.
