Although Metaphor stepped away from the mic to pursue being a CEO, this single is way overdue! As soon as the beat drops, you can tell this joint was crafted by a Hip Hop Veteran by the structure alone. You know, the 4 bar intro, 16 bar verses and 8 bar hook. This is what I what would like to call a BARFEST! No filler at all! And yes, you will have to listen to it over and over just to get every line. Just when you think you got it, you'll listen again and get a completely different meaning! Wait, before you rookies say the bars are outdated, that was the point! Metaphor's motivation was real hip hop so that's what he used to paint the picture. He don't expect anybody under 35 to even understand. Don't even get me started on the production! Newcomer, Bane the Nomad literally captures the essence of Hip Hop with this track. You got this heavy baseline, hard-hitting snare, triumphant horns, mesmerizing strings and a perfect hint of piano.
